The Head of State Alexander Lukashenko has signed the Law on amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus

The Head of State Alexander Lukashenko has signed the Law on amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, which introduces criminal liability for those inducing athletes to use doping, as well as for using prohibited substances or methods against athletes without their knowledge.

These measures, which allow athletes to be protected from anti-doping rule violations by staff are a worldwide tendency to counter doping.

 For the record, 26 countries adopted legal acts to strength measures and criminalize the illegal traffic of substances prohibited in sports, while countries like Australia, Italy, France and Spain criminalized use of doping.
